Terms of Service

These terms set out the contract between you and Office Consumables Ltd (trading as InkCartridges.co.nz) when you place an order with us. We’re a New Zealand business selling in trade under the Fair Trading Act 1986, so the law gives you strong protections — these terms layer on top of those rights, they don’t replace them.

InkCartridges.co.nz is operated by Office Consumables Ltd (NZBN 9429033934204, GST 94-509-459).

1. Who you’re dealing with

InkCartridges.co.nz is a New Zealand storefront operated by Office Consumables Ltd (NZBN 9429033934204, GST 94-509-459) from an office at 37A Archibald Road, Kelston, Auckland 0602, New Zealand. You can reach us by phone on 027 474 0115 or email support@inkcartridges.co.nz during Monday – Friday, 9:00am – 5:00pm NZT.

In trade declaration

We sell in trade within the meaning of the Fair Trading Act 1986 and the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993. That means every consumer-grade purchase comes with the statutory guarantees of acceptable quality, fitness for purpose, and accurate description, and we cannot — and will not — try to contract out of them.

2. Accepting these terms

By placing an order on this site you accept these terms, our Privacy Policy, our Shipping & Delivery Policy, and our Refund & Return Policy. The four documents read together form the agreement between us. If anything in those policies disagrees with these terms, the policy that’s more favourable to you wins.

3. Orders and acceptance

Adding an item to your cart and clicking “Place Order” is an offer to buy from us. Your offer becomes a contract once we send you an order-confirmation email with an order number. If we can’t accept your order — for example because of a stock, pricing, or fraud check — we’ll let you know within one business day and refund any payment in full to the original payment method.

We may decline or cancel orders that look like resale-for-profit volumes, show signs of fraud, or ship to addresses we can’t verify. Where we cancel a paid order on those grounds, you get a full refund — no admin fee.

4. Pricing, GST, and no hidden fees

All prices are in NZD and include GST at the New Zealand rate. The price you see on the product page is the price you pay for that item.

No hidden fees

We don’t add card surcharges, “handling” fees, or “processing” fees. The total at checkout is the total you’ll be charged. Shipping is shown before you pay; orders of $100 or more ship free anywhere in New Zealand.

We accept Visa, Mastercard, American Express, PayPal, Apple Pay, Google Pay. Card payments are processed securely by Stripe; PayPal payments by PayPal. We never see or store your full card number.

We do our best to keep prices accurate. If a pricing error is obvious — for example an item priced at NZD$1 that should clearly be NZD$100 — we’ll contact you before fulfilling the order. You can either pay the corrected price or get a full refund; we’ll never quietly charge you more than the price you accepted.

5. Stock and availability

We list real-time stock on every product page. Where an item is out of stock, the buy button changes to Contact us so you can ask about restock dates. Most SKUs dispatch the same working day if you order before 2pm in Auckland metro on a business day; a small number of low-velocity SKUs add 1–2 working days to handling, and that lead time is disclosed on the relevant product page. See the Shipping & Delivery Policy for full handling times, courier zones, and rates.

6. Delivery

See our Shipping & Delivery Policy for full handling times, zones, and rates. Estimated delivery times are estimates, not guarantees — once a parcel is with the courier, the carrier’s network controls the timeline. We’ll keep you posted with tracking from dispatch and chase any delays on your behalf.

7. Returns, refunds, and the Consumer Guarantees Act

Our full Refund & Return Policy sets out how we handle change-of-mind returns, faulty goods, and incorrectly supplied items. The short version:

  • Faulty, damaged, or not as described: we replace, repair, or refund — your choice for major failures, our choice for minor ones, exactly as the Consumer Guarantees Act requires. There is no time limit on this — these rights apply for as long as is reasonable for the goods.
  • Wrong item sent: we cover return shipping and ship the right item the same day we hear from you.
  • Change of mind, unopened: within 30 days we refund the item price; you cover return shipping. Cartridge and toner boxes must be unopened with the manufacturer’s seal intact.
  • Change of mind, sealed broken: ink and toner cartridges are consumables — once a vacuum seal or foil has been broken we can’t accept the return for change of mind, because we can’t resell them. (This doesn’t affect the rights above for faulty goods.)

8. Intellectual property

The site, the InkCartridges.co.nz logo, and our product photography and copy are owned by us or our licensors. Brand names like Brother, Canon, HP, Epson, Lexmark, and Samsung are trademarks of their respective owners and we use them only to describe cartridge compatibility, not to imply any endorsement or affiliation. “Compatible” cartridges are clearly labelled as compatible (not genuine) and are not made or endorsed by the original manufacturer.

9. Accounts and security

You don’t need an account to order, but signing in keeps your addresses, order history, and printer list handy. Keep your password private — anyone with it can place orders or change addresses on your account. Tell us straight away if you think your account is compromised.

10. Privacy

We handle your personal information under the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020. Read our Privacy Policy for the full detail of what we collect, why we collect it, who we share it with, and how to ask for a copy or correction.

11. Liability

Nothing in these terms removes, excludes, or limits any rights you have under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993, the Fair Trading Act 1986, or any other consumer-protection law that you cannot lawfully be contracted out of. Where we sell to a business that is acquiring the goods for business purposes, the parties agree that the Consumer Guarantees Act does not apply and our liability is limited to the price paid for the goods, except in cases of fraud or wilful misconduct.

12. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms occasionally — to reflect changes in the law, the way we operate, or new products and services. The version stamp at the top of this page tells you which version was in effect when you ordered. The terms in force at the time you placed your order govern that order; later changes don’t apply retroactively.

13. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by New Zealand law. Any dispute we can’t resolve directly goes to the New Zealand courts (or, for consumer disputes under $30,000, the Disputes Tribunal — usually faster and cheaper for everyone).

Before going to a tribunal, please email support@inkcartridges.co.nz or call 027 474 0115. We reply within one business day and almost everything gets sorted in one message.
